Quick Guide to Arena Eventing
Our Arena Eventing competitions are great fun and a good way to keep your horse fit over winter.
As they take place in the main arena the going is always good.
Below we hope to answer some of the common questions we get asked about Arena Eventing here at Speetley.
What is Arena Eventing?
Our Arena Eventing competitions involve a course approx 9 show jumps followed by 6-8 cross country fences including water and steps. The 65/75cm class will jump working hunter fences and the 80/90/100cm classes jump solid fences. The last fence is a knock down joker fence that must be jumped and may be higher than the rest of the course.
How is it judged?
The show jump section is timed. There also a time allowed. Penalties are incurred if you go over this time
Who can enter?
Our competitions are friendly and open to all!
Entry is via the website although we do accept entries on the day for a slighly incresed fee. Those competitors that pre enter will be given a time which will be available on the website on the Friday before the competition. Entries normally close on the Thursday before the competition.
What do I need?
Generally xc attire in worn and you will need a body protector and a number bib
Hope to see you at our next event!
